This video shows students how they can enable live validation of their TEI-XML (or XML using any namespace that has a schema in the .xsd format) with the free, open source text editor 'Visual Studio Code'. This way, they can bypass acquiring a license for oXygen while they work on their XML tasks. Although, as the video explains, not all functionalities oXygen has to offer can be mimicked in Visual Studio Code, and those that can depend on the maintenance of third-party extensions.
